Purchase a gift voucher today and spoil someone with the chance to experience the beauty of the Lucas and Chifley Caves with this coach tour to the two most famous and impressive caves in the entire Jenolan network. Boasting the highest and widest chambers of all the caves at Jenolan, visitors to the Lucas Cave can inspect the famous Cathedral Chamber, the scene of many weddings and concerts, while also getting the opportunity to see one of Jenolan's flowing underground rivers known as the "River Styx".

The other iconic cave, Chifley Cave is often regarded as being the "most beautiful cave in the world." With delicate crystalline decorations stretching from wall-to-wall, it's not hard to understand why it is so loved. Its two main chambers - the Persian Chamber and the Egyptian Chamber - are the major highlights of this cave. With return coach transfers to and from Jenolan Caves included and expert commentary along the way, everything the recipient of this voucher could possibly ask for is included. Tours depart daily from the bus stop in front of the Carrington Hotel on Katoomba Street at 10:35am and return at 5pm.

Nick Waller 2 months ago We booked the Jenolan Caves inclusive tour rather than driving our RV there. A great choice! The caves were fantastic and really lived up to our expectations. But what really made the day special was our driver, John. He is absolutely brilliant! A very friendly guy, who was so informative and helpful. Totally absorbing narrative during the journey, and really engaging conversations with him. The only downside was that, in dropping us off close to our motorhome, we didn't have time to give him a very well-earned gratuity (he was trying to get people to the 5.20 train).

The bus was nothing fancy but reasonably comfortable for over an hour trip

The bus was nothing fancy but reasonably comfortable for over an hour trip. The driver was friendly and helpful. Very easy tour logistically, your time and tickets were very easy. Caves were pretty amazing. Think on the website there was a stop at Govett's Leo mentioned but this didn't happen, maybe due to a late-running caves tour. Overall a really good experience.

Russell our tour guide was knowledgeable and have a good sense of humour. Very informative and highly recommended. We did the Chifley and Lucas cave tours. Amazing to see one of the natural wonders in Australia. Would love to see the other caves in the future.

Overall good experience

Overall good experience, few additional expectations from my end is - lunch can be arranged with some additional charges, because when the package comes with lunch definitely more people will choose this package. This may be kept as one option while booking a ticket. Additionally please add in "about" column to read a bit about the caves before we reach, because if we need to understand what guide says - basic knowledge about that caves would help us a lot.

It was an amazing experience

It was an amazing experience! I can assure that it was my first trip with Experience Oz but it won't be the last. We had booked the return coach travel from Katoomba station to Jenolan Caves. The bus driver was extremely helpful and experienced. The journey was beautiful and scenic. The bus driver was so cooperative that he did wait for us, even though we were 10 minutes late from the departure time. Will recommend to all!

This was a great tour

This was a great tour, everything was on time and ran smoothly. The bus driver was very nice and friendly. 90 min bus ride from Katoomba which was a beautiful scenic drive. Arrived about 25 mins before the Chiefly Cave tour which went for an hour, then had less than 30 mins before the Lucas Cave Tour which went for 1.5 hours. Lucas was my favourite - was stunning. Def need to bring your own lunch and snacks as u don’t have time to get anything. Ate my lunch next to the blue lake which was stunning. Gets pretty chilly in the cave so bring warm clothes. Back at Katoomba on time at 5 pm. Was a fun day would recommend it!

Really enjoyable day trip
Grace 2 years ago

Really enjoyable day trip! Well worth the visit. I started with the Chifley Cave Tour followed by Lucas Cave. I'm glad it worked out this way because honestly, the Lucas Cave was much more interesting to see than the previous cave. Both were interesting. If I had stopped at just one I'd still have been delighted. The bus picked us up promptly in the morning and the journey itself was very beautiful. I perhaps would have liked a little bit more from the bus driver regarding the area and culture but it was a good journey nonetheless. Once at the Jenolan Caves it was all gone! Straight into the first tour, which ran over which meant I didn't get the thirty minutes for lunch in between. A lot of the delay was just because the tour group was quite large and people were slower than others. We waited for 10 minutes at the exit for the tour guide to open the gate and let us out. For me, that was the only negative experience - that wasted time. I had very much wanted to spend that half hour scanning the Blue Lake for platypus. So it was straight into the Lucas Cave which was really amazing! The group was smaller and more interactive which I enjoined and the tour guide very good. The steps weren't as bad as expected! Then straight back to the bus where the driver was waiting for me and back to Katoomba. A GREAT DAY! On the way back we passed Kangeroo in a lay-by... it would have been nice for the bus to slow down for a minute but they were nice even for the glimpse. Really recommend the tour. Go for it!

The bus driver to Jenolan Caves is friendly and informative

The bus driver to Jenolan Caves is friendly and informative. The road to Jenolan Caves especially the last part is narrow and steep. It is advisable to take tour buses like this. The Chifley cave has magnificent structures especially in the "Cathedral". The Lucas cave has smaller structures and it gives the sense of mystery. Overall the experience is great!

Amazing tour

Amazing tour! We had a great bus driver who had arranged our pick-up right on time so we arrived even earlier than planned. As a result, we had some time span to spend examining the surroundings - a great opportunity to see Blue Lake, the cave's entrances and even to take some breathtaking pictures of Blue Mountains in the distance! The road to the caves was really inspiring - with time it becomes very windy and it's a pleasure to watch great views of mountains and just simply scan the picturesque road by yourself (it's very immersive!). I booked two caves tours with a return bus. Both tours were amazing, I've been in Chifley (60 minutes, first tour) and Lucas (90 minutes, second tour) caves. We had a 30 minutes break between the tours to have lunch (bring your own food - I did not see the local prices but I am almost sure they are high just like in other popular tourist attractions) and inspect surroundings for a bit longer. Our guides were very good - we had groups of nearly 12 people and both the guides were able to tell us a lot of interesting stuff about the caves and to answer all our questions. By the way, it's not so cold as it can be (it's always almost 15 degrees Celsius inside, there is no wind and temperature drops or rises). Of course, it's very subjectively, but I had to take off my jacket as it was clearly an extra there. Also, there are no dirt places you can step in but for your convenience, I suggest you bring comfortable shoes - you will be required to take a lot of steps during your tours. To conclude, I want to recommend this tour as everything was done perfectly, there were absolutely no problems during our visit to Jenolan Caves. The booking drawback is related to Jenolan Caves attraction owners policy so it has nothing to do with Experience Oz. It's a really great option if you don't carry a driver's licence, want to explore several caves and make your visit valuable for your wallet. I wish you good luck with your whole trip!

The drive to Jenolan is windy and quite difficult; join a tour and let an experienced bus drive handle the challenge for you! Plus, don't forget your camera to capture the beauty of this natural wonder.
